Remembrance Day and Roll of Honour

Remembrance Day and Roll of Honour

Date Published:
September 2024

In September, an annual Remembrance Day Service is held for serving and former Police Staff who died during the previous twelve months. Police officers killed by criminal acts while performing their official duties are also remembered in the Roll of Honour read out at each Service.

The day of remembrance is traditionally 29 September, the feast day of the Archangel Michael, patron saint of police.

Their service and commitment to the New Zealand Police is remembered and honoured.
