This Regulatory Impact Statement was prepared by the New Zealand Police, signed in February 2020.
It assessed the potential establishment of a statutory framework for the Police vetting service, following a review by the Independent Police Conduct Authority and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. The statutory framework is intended to provide strong legal direction and clear and consistent policy for Police and users of the Police vetting service.
