Proactive release of papers relating to Firearms Prohibition Orders
The Government has introduced a new Bill to introduce a Firearms Prohibition Orders (FPOs) regime to New Zealand.
FPOs protect the public from harm by prohibiting ‘high-risk’ people from accessing, being around, or using firearms or restricted weapons. FPOs achieve this by setting out the conditions which people subject to an order are required to meet, and the penalties for breaching those conditions
The following papers have been produced by New Zealand Police as part of the policy development process for this Bill.
Further papers will added to this site over the next few months.
