Culture Survey Results 2022
- In April 2022, an organisation-wide survey was conducted by Police to assess workplace culture after two years of policing in a COVID-19 environment.
- The Commissioner of Police and the Chair of IPCA commissioned a staff survey in September 2020 to better understand our people’s experiences of Police workplace culture and support an investigation by the IPCA into allegations of workplace bullying in Police.
- Topline results were released in late 2020 and further detailed results released with the IPCA report Bullying, Culture and Related Issues in NZ Police in March 2021.
- The 2022 Police culture survey asked similar questions to the 2020 survey in order to assess what progress has been made and where there continues to be challenges.
- The topline results summary and organisation-wide report from the 2022 workplace culture survey have now been collated and shared with Police staff.
- The vast majority feel NZ Police is a great place to work, with nine out of ten staff appreciating their relationships with team members.
- Staff shared that they are looking forward to refocusing on Police’s core business of preventing crime and harm and ensuring our communities are safe and feel safe, after two years of working hard to support the country with its Covid-19 response.
