Disqualification

 

1. Are you under 18 years old?

    

2. In the last 5 years, were you:
   • Convicted of:
     • A specified offence?
     • An offence under the Secondhand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Act 2004? or
     • An offence under the Pawnbrokers Act 1908 or Secondhand Dealers Act 1963?
   • Imprisoned?

    

3. In the last 5 years, was
   • Your certificate or licence cancelled?
   • Your application for renewal of a certificate or licence refused?
   • A company licence cancelled while you were a person concerned with the company's management?

    

4. Is your certificate suspended?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you will be automatically disqualified from holding a secondhand dealers licence or certificate.

A company is disqualified if it has:

• been convicted in the last five years of a specified offence; or
• if it has had its licence cancelled in the last five years.

The Licensing Authority can waive a disqualification. The Authority may do so, if there are special reasons.
