The NZ Police, Taupo Area, are looking for a positive and enthusiastic person who responds well to a challenging environment.

 

A vacancy exists for a Typist to contribute with operational and administrative typing support at the Taupo Police Station. 

 

The successful applicant will be required to undertake all copy, dictaphone and word processing requirements in a timely and professional manner, with excellent interpersonal skills.  This person will be able to work unsupervised as well as being a valuable contributor to our committed team.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS


PURPOSE
Provides shorthand and typing services to area staff, which includes General Duties Branch, Criminal Investigation Branch and other areas as required.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Service Delivery
  • Prioritising work to ensure that urgent correspondence is attended to.
  • Actions incoming copy, dictaphone and word-processing requirements ensuring the prompt completion and delivery of the same.
  • Records minutes of meetings/briefings and takes dictation.
  • Provides full reception services when required to relieve.
  • Presents written material, including reports and correspondence as required.
  • Sends and receives faxes, photocopies and dispatches documents as required.
  • Provides support to General Duties Branch, Criminal Investigation Branch and other areas, which includes work overflow from other typist positions.
  • Provides coordination and administrative support for the team as required.
  • Transcribing of videotaped interviews of victims and offenders, including sexual abuse victims for CAT office.

  • Ensures all service requests and complaints are met with a professional, customer friendly and timely response. Participates in problem identification including symptoms, causes and effects.
